Sunflowers – I remember as a child at school, everyone being given a seed to plant. We had little brown plant pots with our names on a sticky label. We planted the seeds and then when they had grown a little we were allowed to plant them by the wall. Each one had a tag with our name on in the ground next to it. I remember all the tall flowers smiling down on us. For the life of me I can’t remember whose plant was tallest or smallest. But, I do remember those happy flowers. These memories inspired me to create the Sunflower Shadow Box.
Sunflower Shadow Box
I have been playing with creating a shadow box frame for some time now, and have done various things with them. When the In Good Taste DSP launched I knew that this was the perfect paper to cover a shadow box in to make it look like a real frame.

Teaming the In Good Taste DSP with Cinnamon Cider seemed the obvious choice. (I do have a soft spot for this colour – perhaps its being a south west lass). Add in a touch of Bumble Bee and its job done.
Jar of Flowers provides the gorgeous Mason Jars. All of these have been stamped on a ceramic print from the In Good Taste DSP. Not all jars are see through or glass, so this seemed a really pretty alternative.
Two of these were added to the front panels of the box with gorgeous Bumblebee Gingham Ribbon bows.
Inside the Box

How gorgeous do these sunflowers look inside this Sunflower Shadow Box. So pretty. They are the Sunflowers from Jar of Flowers and are such fun to colour. Today I have used Mango Melody, light and dark blends. Daffodil Delight, Light and Dark Blends, Cinnamon Cider, Light Blend. Just Jade light and Dark Blend, and Magenta madness Light and Dark Blends. So easy and pretty to colour.
Then the fussy cutting. I find this very therapeutic and love sitting with my snips cutting out some little bits and bobs. In this case a bouquet of Sunflowers.
Lastly to finish – before adding the sunflowers I have added a piece of the Bumblebee Gingham Ribbon. Then the Sunflowers are attached using dimensional.
