Hiya, how are you all? I know you’re intrigued on two levels…. is tasteful textures a new stamp set, and what is the hinge step. Nope its not country dancing ….. although that could be fun. More will be revealed about Tasteful Textures doing the Hinge Step further down.
Tasteful Textures
Tasteful Textures is indeed a new stamp set. As I tell many of my customers and friends, anything with Textures in the title is a great buy. These kind of sets make great background stamps and have images which add depth and texture to your designs.
Today though I wanted to focus on a technique which is highlighted on page 39 of your new catalogue. Basically you are using the Stamparatus to stamp your image. After each stamp you move the plate down one or two hinge places and stamp again. This creates multiple images aligned in a row. Gorgeous. As you can see in my design I have used the sentiment “The good things in life are better with you” .
Soft Pretty Pastels
I have used two of my favourite soft pastel colours – soft sea foam and petal pink on very vanilla cardstock. These colours give a very soft and feminine look. Add in the very vanilla and you have the perfect card base combination.
Stamp the flowers in petal pink on petal pink cardstock and then fussy cut, stamp the leaves are in soft sea foam on soft sea foam cardstock. The feathers, of these oh so pretty feathers, are on very vanilla cardstock in petal pink ink. (try saying that quickly – lol)
I really enjoyed creating this card. And to finish it off I of course had to add some sparkle – so the champange rhinestones were the perfect finishing touch.
