Hi everyone, how are you all? I hope you are all ok and well. Its sunny here in Somerset (Uk) today and a dip in the sea would be just perfect, but I don’t really fancy being special someone at sea in an umbrella!!
The owl and the pussycat
There are three stamp sets involved in todays card and some dies plus a little bit so sponging. Behind todays card was a nursery rhyme I taught my kids when they were little. The owl and the pussycat went to sea in a beautiful pea green boat ……. Now I know that the Special Someone stamp set does not contain an owl and a pussy cat ……… but that was the memory it evoked for me.
Do stamps sets evoke memories for you – if so what? I would love to hear please share in the comments.
Looking at the Special Someone stamp set, this rhyme goes around in my and these little critters were in umbrella boats. The Umbrellas are from Under My Umbrella – which is my online / in your home class this month.
How pretty is this card. The waves are the GRASS DIE from the Special Someone Dies – these will be available in the new 2020/21 Annual Catalogue. If you would like to reserve your copy please fill in the catalogue request form and I will get a copy to you as soon as they land on my doormat.
The first thing to do on this card is to stamp the beautiful lighthouse from SAILING HOME This is my favourite lighthouse. The texture and detail are stunning. Next sponge your sky using balmy blue or pool party – the choice is yours.
Next stamp your birds and then layer your Sea (grass diecuts). I have 5 layers in mine but they are all angled differently like waves on the sea.
After layering your sea stamp two of the lovely large umbrellas and colour in using water colour pencils. Stamp two of the handles Punch out all of these bits.
Stamp 2 racoons, 2 squirels and 1 mouse. Again colour in watercolour pencils and then I am sorry – but until the dies are available you will have to fussy cut these.
Using glue dots and dimensionals place your umbrellas on your card and then add your critters. Simples …… You have a beautiful card for a special someone at sea in an umbrella.
