The Spring and Summer 2020 inspiration book contains fabulous stamps, but this particular set stood our for me. The suite, Peaceful Poppies is beautiful and contains two stamp sets. Today I am showcasing Painted Poppies.
Peaceful Poppies Suite

This gorgeous suite, is featured on the front of the catalogue. For me, it has a very personal link – because of the Poppy Appeal. I will never part with this suite of goodies. There are two stamps sets and a whole load of other goodies in the suite, but you don’t have to purchase it all. For my card today I focused on the Painted Poppies.

Painted Poppies

Real Red is a great base for the poppies to be stamped onto. Stamp the large poppy image in Momento – randomly. Yes – I know, some of you have trouble with random. Just do it, give it a go, and I promise you will get used to doing it and like it.
Layer whisper white and another piece of real red, offset, this gives a twist to your normal very regimented layering.
Stamp the poppies from the set in moment and then using watercolour pencils, colour the stems and poppies.
To make the clouds, I turned to My Meadow (previously featured) and used the clouds. I love these clouds.
I did not add a sentiment to this card, but if I had I would have stamped it across the top before adhering the final layer.

The dies that come with this set enable you to cut the large flower and the leaf very easily and quickly. Whilst the other lovely shapes give you an endless variation of tag shapes and layering pieces. The splodges make an amazing edging or background to any card. Enabling you to create quite a vintage look if you wanted.
