Memories of those special days made extra special with Stampin Up ……

Hi guys, I have something extra special to show you today made using Stampin Up products
In this post:
  • Memories of those special days
  • Short and Sweet
  • Big Shot, Big Deals
Many years ago I lived in Cornwall, for a while and at that time my kids needed a Nanny, to sit with them during the summer holidays.
I was lucky enough to find a lovely young lady called Sammy, who my kids adored,  she’s a star.
Anyway many years later the lovely Sammy has got married and had a little one of her own.
Here’s what I made her to celebrate her wedding
The outside box.  Crumb cake stamped in early espresso using the gorgeous Hardwood background stamp.  I made the lovely tag from crumb cake, sponged the edges.  The cute flowers are made using the itty bitty punches.
Gift Box in Crumbcake, stamped in hardwood from Stampin Up

Stampin Up Crumb cake card and Designer Series Paper
Inside was a matchbox.  A very long matchbox, but how cute.  This is covered in some retired DSP from last Christmas.  (This book has used up left overs from two now retired stacks. – never chuck these things away, they always come in handy)

Matchbox drawer using Stampin Up products
The sentiment on the tags and the box and the book are from a retired wedding set.  I borrowed these from my friend Sandra, as hey said just the perfect thing.
The drawer pulls out with the aid of the lovely antique button.   The box is nearly 7″ long and just over 4″ wide, and an inch deep.

Mini album using Crumb Cake from Stampin Up
Here’s the front and side of the mini album that goes inside.

Stampin UP Designer Series Papers make this so cute
showing all the lovely pages with their gorgeous colours

Stampin Up products make great mini albumns
and here’s how the accordion pages pull out.  Each side has 7 photo/jouranal sections when fully extended.
This was so lovely to make and I know that Sammy adores it.
Its so nice to be able to make something so personal, and to make someone special smile.  I love my job and I love what I do, and days like that just make it even better.

An old favourite design revamped for a sneaky Stampin UP In colour Peak

Hi guys
Have you got a favourite colour – or is there a colour that reminds you of someone special?
For me that colour is green.  My Nan passed away in my early 20’s and we were very close, and her favourite colour was Green.  She loved all shades of green.
So what’s the colour that reminds you of someone.  I’d love to see your makes in that colour.
Anyway last year I made a card using the diagonal score board.  Its great for creating unique backgrounds.  I wanted to recreate it and change it up a bit for this year’s new In – Colours from Stampin UP.
So here it is …………
Mossy Meadow Flower Card
Isn’t the criss cross background so cute, and so simple to do.
But wait ……… ooooh I forgot to say there is another sneaky peak on here as well.
And the inside ……….. more sneaky peak.
Of course I sponged the edges of the little flowers with the matching Mossy Meadow Ink.
This lovely punch is part of the New Itty Bitty Punch Pack.  Such cute punches.  I know you’ll just love them.
I have left the sentiment off this card.  But it would look great at the bottom right hand corner.
Don’t forget there’s only a few days left to get your retiring stock now
And you can still join Stampin Up for only £50 until the end of June (30th)
Check back tomorrow for the New weekly deals and another sneaky peaky.

Etcetera DSP Sewing Box – Stampin UP! style of course

Morning …………  I still have 2 more Father’s day cards to show you this week, and a 65th Birthday card
But first I thought you might like to see this.
A couple of weeks ago my lovely Sister In Law – Lisa asked if she could come and do some crafting.
It was decided that Saturday was the day and both my Mum and Lisa came to play.
We had a lovely day and it ended in a BBQ with my brother and the rest of Lisa’s family.
(Its very confusing because we are both called Lisa!!)
Anyway my Mum finished off a memory book she was making and Lisa wanted to make a sewing tidy for her desk.
Here it is.  It is based on my Birthday Box and Book  but we needed to create more storage spaces
I cut the Coaster Board to size and Lisa decorated it.
It has two pull out trays at the top.  The back square one is going to be a pin cushion.  Do you like the decoupage Rose on the front.

When these are lifted out there is more storage space underneath

Finally we cut and decoupaged the bust onto the side of the box with the rose

I love being able to share my hobby with friends and family.  If you would like to have a crafty get together with your friends then why not contact me and we can arrange a crafty workshop in your home.

Modern Medley meets Look up to Father – Stampin UP fathers day

Hi everyone.

Yesterday I showed you the first of four makes for Fathers Day.

The one today is an 8 x 8 card.  To do this I used 2 pieces of A4 card stock and created a hinge.

To create this matts and layers were created with the Modern Medley designer series papers.
The centre of the top two layers was removed and a frame created using Framelits dies and stuck down with dimensionals to give it some lift.
The image of the tree was stamped onto a separate piece of card stock and fussy cut.
I then placed this in the centre of the frame with dimensionals.

The sentiment was stamped and then cut out.  I made the banner ends myself by snipping into the card stock in the centre and then from each side.
The inside of the card was matted and layered to match the outside.

What did you do this weekend? …… I had the most amazing

time at the Stampin Up European Convention 2013.
It followed the theme that has been constant throughout the year ………
Be the Difference ……….
Did you know just a smile can make an immense difference to someone’s day, just a little word of kindness or a small  gesture can have a huge effect.
We believe very much at Stampin Up! that we should love what we do and share what we love.  And I love sharing this with my customers, friends and also with all the other demonstrators.  I really do believe that we all can make a difference.
Can you see that smile of joy when someone opens your handmade card, unwraps that gorgeous handmade gift, the tears of happiness and the shear delight that you have taken that extra bit of time to think about them.
In just these small things you to can make an enormous difference and it’s never to late to start.
With this in mind Stampin Up launched an competition covering the EU countries in which they operate to find the best samples from each country.
Also they honoured all the demonstrators at a gala awards ceremony.
But the weekend was not all about partying, we had plenty of seminars to attend and lots of learning to do.  But this was also extreme fun and when shared with other people who love what they do as much as i do it was an immense pleasure.
So would you like to see pictures of the weekend?
Yes, ok, here goes
One of my swaps
My other swap – the back and front of a postcard
the bag tags I made for Traci and I
Some of the gorgeous Pinkies – both English and Dutch
(This is just a fraction of the 84 Pinkies at Convention)
So as you can see we had great fun.  There was lots of laughs, giggles, tears of joy and lots of cheering as one by one the Pinkies were honoured on stage during the awards ceremony.
The lovely Sacha and Baby Rosie
Myself, Sam, Tracey and Lucy
Traci, and Tracey
Can I just say all the Pinkies truly are fantastic.
So apart from all the fun with my fellow Pinkies there was one major surprise in store for me at convention.
What was it ? …………
Well it was this
Yes I did it ……… I won first place in the United Kingdom heat of the Stampin Up design challenge.
Would you like to be able to make this gorgeous birthday card box and birthday book?
Well check back on the 14th December and the instructions will be here for you to buy.  They will be linked in my sidebar.
There are lots of fanastic offers and classes coming up over the next few months, so please check back for regular updates.
Don’t forget if you wish to order you lovely Stampin UP goodies in time for Christmas you can do so on my online shop.

We all love a little FREE stuff …………..

and here at Stampin Up we know that, so this month we are giving you a free pack of Designer Papers when you buy three others.
I just love the papers, they are so versatile and to give you some inspiration I have up-cycled an old gift box.
I used the gorgeous Epic Day This and That paper pack.  The colours are gorgeous and the patterns blended with the shape of the box brilliantly.
I then used a Vintage button to create the centre of the flower on the top before
Using these two scallop punches to make the petals for the scrumptious flower on top of the box.

Finally I used the Crisp Cantaloupe Ruffle Stretch Trim to finish the box off.
I love it and am now using it as my Pencil/Tool box.  It houses my eraser, snips, and all my other bits and bobs brilliantly.
I hope you love it as much as I do, and that it inspires you to have a go.  Dont forget to email me or give me a call on 07823 883769 to get you supplies to recreate this box.
Hugs

Gumball Green, Two stamp sets and One Sizzlits die and a punch …………

Wow, that was all the kit I had available.  Plain whisper white and Gumball green card, Two stamp sets, one butterfly punch  and one sizzlets die.  No pretty papers, no ribbons, nothing.  What was I gonna do.  Well I guess it was time to go back to basics.  And what good fun it was.  The whole kit is from the stamping up range and I really enjoyed trying it out.

The stamp sets were

Blooming with Kindness, Papillon Potpourri.

The flowers were made with the Floral Fusion Sizzlits dies, and the butterfly punched with the Elegant Butterfly punch.  It was finished off with a few Rhinestone Basic Jewels.

Here’s the result.  I really love how fresh it is.

So as you can all see the blog has changed.  Gone is the green and burgundy, and instead I have a lovely fresh pale palette to offset my work.
Check back in a couple of days there are more changes planned.
As always your comments are gratefully received.

Bright and summery – even if it’s -3 outside

Well it’s been absolutely glorious again today, albeit absolutely freezing……

And all this sunshine gave me the inspiration needed for my next card.  I wanted to give a feeling of all things good about summer, the sun, the colours of the flowers, butterflies, pot plants and great birthdays…

I have used a sketch and stash sketch (No 7) as the basis for this card.  They have some fab sketches in their library.  The image is a Wee Stamps image.  I think she’s just too cute.  What do you guys think??

The papers used are from Stampin Up, Pampered Pets, Kate Knight Totally Tropical and papermania card stock.  I used a spellbinders die to cut the centre shape and the sentiment is from the Tulip range.  The butterfly charm is from my stash of broken up jewelry. The pink and orange butterfly was cut on the cricut and then glittered using stickles.  The edges of all papers were inked using Marmalade TH Distress inks.  The image was coloured with my fab promarkers.

I am going to enter this card into the following challenges:

Hooked on Craft Challenges :  Something Bright & Summery
I love promarkers: photo inspiration bright buttons
Crafts and Me – Brighten up your day
Divas by Design :  Anything goes
Sketch n Stash:  Free Choice sketch No7

Thanks for popping in and having a look and for any comments you leave.  They are always much appreciated.

Tilda in the fall

Hi everyone and thanks for taking the time to pop in and have a wander around.

Have been sat watching the leaves falling to the ground, and their fantastic array of colours and this has inspired the colours in my Tilda card.

Tilda has been coloured with Promarkers and then sat in an oval frame.  The roses are handmade spiral roses.  The tree and leaves were cut on the cricut.  The ribbons are from Stampin Up and the papers were some I had given to me for my birthday.  I finished the card off with a little bit of bronze glitter.
I am going to enter this card ito the following challenges.
